Green Hills tool certified for functional safety

March 20, 2014 // By Christoph Hammerschmidt
Authorised test organisations TÜV Nord and exida have issued safety certifications to Green Hills Software's MULTI tool chain. The certificate enables project managers to utilise the toolchain for safety critical developments in automotive, railway and industrial applications.

According to the certificates, the tool chain meets the requirements of ISO 26262:2011 for automotive environments, EN 50128:2011 for railways and IEC 61508:2010 for industrial applications. The IDE is thus qualified to be used in applications according to the Safety Integrity Level (SIL) 4 and Automotive Safety Integrity Level (ASIL) D - both describe the highest safety requirements.

According to TÜV Nord, the tool chain from Green Hills is the industry's first commercial off-the-shelf offering addressing the challenging requirements for a broad set of target microprocessors.

The MULTI IDE offers integrated multicore development, debug and programming tools, including AUTOSAR operating system awareness, flash programming for on-chip flash, performance profiler, project builder, code coverage, run-time error checking, MISRA C adherence wizard, and the DoubleCheck integrated static code analyzer.
