With the product, electric powertrain designers can implement the distribution of power to several HV units safely and in a space-saving manner – a requirement that increasingly is encountered at recent HV powertrain architectures. The use of a multi-layer, tightly sealed hybride casing made of metal and plastic surpasses the mechanical and EMC requirements of most customers and at the same time ensures resistance to environmental influences.

Through computer simulations and optimized 3D design, the power distributor is also significantly improved in terms of size, weight and costs. The modular design allows variable use of the component: With partly identical components and the same construction principles, different cable cross sections, outgoing directions and the number of outputs (variant: X distributor) can be realized.

The product is laid out for two-core shielded high-voltage silicone cables with a cable cross-section of 2 x 6 mm², which enable operation at high temperatures. It is also applicable to different types of conductors and materials. The simple design of the power distributor allows scalability to additional cross-sections such as 2 x 2.5 mm² or 2 x 4 mm² as well as individual cable lines. Furthermore, the high-voltage distributor can be adapted to customer requirements in terms of temperature resistance. The component is currently designed for a voltage of 1,000 volts.
