Former Infineon CEO Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart has been hired by carmaker Jaguar Land Rover PLC - as head of worldwide development, writes German weekly paper Automobilwoche with reference to Jaguar Land Rover CEO Ralf Speth.

Ziebart brings along significant expertise in automotive electronics. Before he joined Infirneon he was working for electronics supplier Continental AG where he oversaw the Automotive Systems Divisions. Prior to his term at Continental, Ziebart worked for BMW in a number of different positions; as member of the BMW board he was responsible for the electrics and electronics development for the Bavarian luxury carmaker. According to Automobilwoche, Ziebart also worked as top executive for the small sports car manufacturer Artega where he developed a battery electric vehicle.

With Ziebart another former BMW executive has been hired by Jaguar Land Rover: Past week the company announced that Wolfgang Stadler, director of the BMW production plant in Dingolfing will assume the role of production manager for Jaguar Land Rover. The company's current Chief Executive Officer Ralf Speth also worked for BMW in his earlier career.
