Aukua Systems, KDPOF extend ISO 21111 standard for Automotive Ethernet

Ethernet test and monitoring solutions provider Aukua Systems and KDPOF, a provider of Gigabit transceivers over POF (polymer optical fiber), have established a technology partnership: Aukua provided the necessary measurement technology for an extension of the ISO standard ISO 2111 for in-vehicle Gigabit Ethernet.

The two additional sections, ISO 21111-3:2020 and ISO 21111-5:2020, of the international ISO 21111 series of standards for the physical layer of in-vehicle Gigabit Ethernet were recently published. ISO 21111-3:2020 specifies additional features to the existing IEEE 802.3bv standard, such as wake-up and synchronized link-sleep algorithms. ISO 21111-5:2020 defines the requirements at system level. It also contains a complete conformance and interoperability test plan for ECU manufacturers implementing the 1 Gbps optical physical layer according to ISO 21111-3.

By providing the MGA2510 Ethernet test and monitoring platform, Aukua Systems has equipped the test setup for ISO certification.

KDPOF supports the test environment to ensure that the ECUs and their technology are tested by recognized test houses and comply with the ISO standard
