Eyesight, a provider of Edge-based computer vision and AI solutions for the automotive industry and the IoT, has announced a new $15 million financing round led by Jebsen Capital, Arie Capital, Mizrahi Tefahot and other investors.

Eyesight already works with a number of companies. The current investment round will enable the company to further expand its market presence in edge computer vision and AI. Both technologies are regarded as crucial for the design of user interactions in the automotive and smart home sectors. They are also a key factor when it comes to driver safety. Eyesight has developed a driver and occupancy monitoring system that watches the driver’s attention and behavior in the cockpit, thus helping to reduce the accident record.

The company’s in-cabin sensor solutions are designed for integration into the latest vehicle models and meet the system requirements for autonomous vehicles as well as the safety recommendations of Euro NCAP, which calls on car manufacturers to integrate driver monitoring systems into all new vehicle types by 2020. The current financing round is designed to drive Eyesight’s global growth and enable the company to bring its sensor solutions to the market as a key player in more vehicle models on the road.


The technology monitors the driver’s direction of vision, pupil dilation, eye opening, head posture and other visual criteria to trigger a warning signal when there are signs of drowsiness or distraction. The technology also detects how many people are in the vehicle to enable real-time optimization of safety systems based on the number of people, reduce potential injuries and ensure the safety of vehicle occupants.

Eyesight’s proprietary technology is based on more than 22 patents and uses computer vision and AI algorithms. The solutions are optimized for real-time edge processing on each device, providing high accuracy and slim design while maintaining user privacy.

Simultaneously with the announcement of the financing round, Eyesight presents the result of its rebranding and the new company logo. The new design underlines the company’s focus on Edge-Computervision and AI and is intended to make sensor capabilities visible.
