Open source platform for smart sensors
Designers can then choose different connectivity options. Flyport Wi-Fi is the first module, running the communication stack and the application. The module is based on the open source multitasking framework openPICUS. It features a Microchip PIC 24F 16 bit processor, a 802.11 b/g/n WiFi certified Microchip Wi-Fi module MRF24WB0MA/RM (PCB antenna or uFL), and the openPICUS Free IDE. The Flyport Wi-Fi module offers a Webserver, email client, SNTP, SMTP, TPC/UDP socket. It operates from 5V or 3.3V and measures 35X48X7mm. New IDE 2.1 features include energy saving functions, an improved IOInit() function to easily remap all the peripheral pins and a simplified management of the external interrupts with a simple instruction. The IDE Wizard allows engineers to modify the number of serial ports and their buffers size.
