With the software-based function upgrade, up to four objects can be simulated independently of each other. Each echo can be freely parameterised with its own distance, speed and amplitude (RCS). The signal quality of the simulated targets as well as accuracy and reproducibility are not affected by the simultaneous simulation of several targets. The extension concerns the models DARTS 9030-M and DARTS 9030-MS.

Users can decide whether to purchase an extended software license for the simulation of two, three or four targets.

dSpace expanded its portfolio just last year through a close partnership with radar specialists miro-sys and ITS. The dSpace Automotive Radar Test Systems (DARTS) include solutions for the complete value chain from sensor testing at chip manufacturers to hardware-in-the-loop protection and tape-end testing at the car manufacturer. DARTS solutions are also used in homologation and in the aftermarket.

The DARTS 9030-M is a modular high-frequency test solution for automotive radar sensors and enables the validation of radar-based automotive applications in many areas – from chip design and sensor development to the testing of driver assistance systems and autonomous vehicles. The system allows easy to perform realistic over-the-air tests. It simulates radar echoes of objects in road traffic with parameterizable distances, speeds and sizes.
