TTTech Auto, BlackBerry want to establish QNX Neutrino as RTOS for ADAS
The goal of the collaboration is to control computational processes across the entire vehicle architecture, ensuring well-defined safety and performance characteristics of the overall system – not least supporting faster time-to-market for next-generation production vehicles.
Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving systems place very high demands on functional safety and real-time computing performance. To meet the latter, high-performance systems-on-a-chip (SoCs) are required, connected to a reliable high-speed communications backbone. Similarly, software functions within and across all interconnected SoCs must interoperate in a reliable and secure manner.
QNX provides a basic software component that runs on individual SoCs. TTTech Auto’s MotionWise vehicle software platform, on the other hand, with its high level of functional safety, seamlessly orchestrates software functions across multiple SoCs. The tight integration of these two technologies, already proven in millions of vehicles around the globe, ensures the orchestration of workloads across the entire vehicle level, delivering well-defined overall system safety and performance.
