SuperSpeed USB 3.0 technology supports dual-simplex four wire differential signalling compared to half-duplex two wire differential signalling for USB 2.0. Data flows can be simultaneous bi-directional instead of only unidirectional with negotiated directional bus transitions, traffic flow is asynchronous and explicitly routed instead of being broadcast to all devices.
USB 3.0 supports multi-level power management including idle, sleep, and suspend. The connector supports 50% more bus power than USB 2.0 and 80% more with configured power. Edac’s USB 3.0 connector is available in Type A, Type B and Micro.
