Complex driver assistance systems and the increasing number of infotainment applications are leading to an ever-increasing volume of data being transferred between the ECUs of new vehicle models. Modern vehicle architectures therefore rely on Automotive Ethernet according to IEEE 802.3 100(0)Base-T1 or BroadR-Reach in addition to the various classic bus systems.
Previously, several different data loggers were required for logging the entire vehicle-internal data communication. The Bluepirat Rapid multibus data logger for vehicle development and testing solves this problem. It enables the analysis of vehicle architectures based on Automotive Ethernet by recording all data traffic in real time with a uniform synchronous time base. Selected data sections can be separately backed up by manually or automatically configured triggers and filters.
With only a single device, data traffic on up to ten Automotive Ethernet lines, classic bus systems, standard Ethernet, USB and serial interfaces as well as digital and analog inputs can be recorded. With up to 3 TB of internal memory and a corresponding recording performance, they can handle the large amounts of data typical of Automotive Ethernet.
Optional accessories such as network cameras and GPS/mobile radio modules can be connected via front connectors and recorded to an external USB mass storage device.
The data loggers meet increased requirements in terms of temperature range, vibration and shock resistance for use in automotive driving. Their compact closed all-metal housing without fan and rotating data storage as well as the absence of protruding components make them maintenance-free and robust in daily operation.
