dSpace acquires stake in AI start-up neurocat
The provider of simulation and validation solutions for the development of vehicles, dSpace GmbH, has acquired a stake in the Berlin-based start-up neurocat. neurocat is considered an expert in the validation of AI applications, especially with regard to their robustness. In addition, the start-up offers consulting services regarding the reliable use of AI and provides cloud-based software for the automated testing and optimisation of AI applications.

neurocat's offerings support the development of networked and autonomous systems for the automotive industry, but also address other industries such as medical, automation, telecommunications technology or finance. The aim of dSpace's participation is to support the market launch of the cloud-based platform "aidkit" and to use the new solution in the future to secure AI algorithms for vehicles. The amount of the investment was not disclosed.

"neurocat's key technology safeguards the quality of AI applications and thus strengthens trust in AI. This is also of considerable importance to dSpace and its customers, so this participation and partnership further completes our comprehensive, increasingly AI-driven solution offering for simulation and validation. Furthermore, we share with neurocat the mission to support technology and mobility pioneers in the development of connected and autonomous systems with consulting services and required software solutions," explained dSpace CEO Martin Goetzeler.

"As a pioneer in the field of AI robotics, we now want to accelerate our international growth and will benefit from the global dSpace network," said Stephan Hinze, founder of neurocat. dSpace is the ideal growth partner for neurocat's next development steps and brings valuable experience and resources for the transformation from a consulting company to a software-as-a-service (SaaS) provider, the statement added.

neurocat is a deep tech start-up specialising in the quality assurance of AI applications. neurocat offers companies consulting services for the secure use of AI applications and develops the cloud platform aidkit, which automatically checks machine learning applications and generates recommendations for optimising the applications. neurocat currently employs around 40 people.
