In the cooperation, Faurecia will bring in its expertise as a system integrator for vehicle interiors while Hella will contribute products for interior lighting. With this measure, the two automotive suppliers are taking account of the fact that, according to experts' belief, autonomous driving will lead to a comprehensive redesign of vehicle interiors. Another important trend is towards more extensive individualization of the interior, also and especially with regard to lighting.
Already in October 2018, Faurecia and Hella presented an initial joint concept for the vehicle interior of the future at the Paris Motor Show. This is characterized by dynamic and versatile ambient lighting. For example, when drivers enter the vehicle, they are greeted with personalized light animations in the instrument panel, door trim, and seats. Hella and Faurecia are also working on further lighting functionalities that can transmit information to the driver in self-propelled car scenarios and contribute to greater safety.
Faurecia has already entered into similar cooperation agreements with suppliers Mahle and ZF, such as the present cooperation with Hella.
