Interference suppression filters for automotive Power-over-Coax (PoC)
The main applications of TDK's new MDF1005 series interference suppression filters are in-vehicle power-over-coax (PoC) applications, for example in the areas of ADAS circuits, bus lines and telematics units.

According to the manufacturer, the MDF1005 series products offer good DC heterodyne characteristics with impedance within the PoC RF band between 700 MHz and 2.4 GHz. This series is also well suited for communication interface isolation and noise reduction. Despite the compact dimensions of 1.0 x 0.5 mm2, the products in the series offer an impedance of 1000 Ω or more with a rated current of 400 mA and an ambient temperature of up to 125 ℃.

By using ferrite material with low high-frequency losses, the MDF series provides greater impedance at higher frequency than conventional chip beads and also reduces impedance fluctuations at power-on. This meets PoC filter requirements and reduces noise. The AEC-Q200 also meets the new filters.

Mass production of the new filters is scheduled to start in December 2020.
