Intersil receives ISO/TS16949 certification
Chip vendor Intersil Corporation has been awarded the ISO/TS16949:2002 certification for its manufacturing facilities in Milpitas, CA, Palm Bay, FL and Munich, Germany. The certification refers to quality management systems and is a relevant criterion for selling semiconductors into the automotive value chain.

"Automotive customers expect zero product defects and zero incidents”, commented Sagar Pushpala, Sr. Vice President, Operations and Technology at Intersil. He added that the company has a proven track record in meeting these demands not only with military and space products, but also with commercial products for other market segments.

ISO/TS16949 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system that is recognized by the customer members of the International Automotive Task Force (IATF). ISO/TS16949 includes ISO9001 and provides additional requirements for the automotive industry. This certification is one of the key requirements to engage with automotive customers.
