Software tool handles embedded ADAS data fusion applications
The software provider Baselabs GmbH (Chemnitz, Germany) has introduced "Create Embedded", a new tool for the development of embedded data fusion applications for driver assistance systems and automatic driving functions. The tool offers a continuous workflow from the first prototype in pre-development to series production.

Typical applications of Baselabs Create Embedded are Automatic Emergency Braking Systems (AEB), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Warning Systems (FCW) and object fusion for piloted driving. For applications with functional safety aspects, the tool can be used for object fusion within the framework of safety architectures. The data fusion library supports all relevant vehicle sensors such as radar, camera and lidar. A graphical user interface allows data fusion systems to be configured in the shortest possible time. As a result, the user receives C source code suitable for series production.

The development tool contains data fusion algorithms that combine data from vehicle sensors and provide a uniform object list for the vehicle environment. According to the manufacturer, the tool enables the efficient and fast development of data fusion systems. The resulting C code is human-readable and comparable to handwritten code. It is adaptable and extensible and enables the developer to flexibly master the individual challenges of data fusion and to easily adapt the data fusion system to changing sensor setups and different sensor types from e.g. different manufacturers.
