The PSA Group will use the new drive system on its modular e-CMP electric platform, on which the Peugeot e-208 and Opel Corsa-e compact electric cars are based. Hyundai made Vitesco Technologies its preferred partner in the Chinese market through the Beijing joint venture Hyundai and is equipping the compact Encino SUV model and the Lafesta sedan with Vitesco's electric drive technology. Production of the new electric drive system has already started at Vitesco’s plant in Tianjin, China, and Vitesco electric vehicles will follow over the next twelve months.
In addition, the company’s axle drive is also driving the Sion electric vehicle from German start-up company Sono Motors.
Vitesco Technologies develops solutions for electric mobility and is a partner of all major car manufacturers. As early as 2006, the company began development work on an electric drive, which was then used in the Renault electric vehicles Fluence, Kangoo and Zoe from 2011. This wealth of experience has now been incorporated into the third generation of the axle drive.
